6′ x 4′ Original Simple Soaker™ Hot Tub Package

Our 6′ diameter x 4′ high cedar (43″ interior depth) hot tub provides an extra foot of depth over the 6×3. If you are exceptionally tall, simply like deep tubs or are tight on space, but want to accommodate 5 to 6 tubbers, this could be a good choice over the 6×3. It comes with 5 benches, each 38” long. The supports provide three staggered heights to accommodate varying sizes and bathing preferences. The highest bench provides both a cooling off position and provides ease of access into and out of the tub.

The 6×4 like the 6×3 can easily accommodate 5 adults and because of the extra foot of depth there is effectively more leg room. Because of the extra depth it is possible to get 6 or more people in it, but lateral room is more of a consideration. The 38” long benches provide about the same seating space for two as you would find in coach class in an airplane. That is to say that two on the same bench will be rubbing elbows. Unless depth is the primary consideration, for more occupant space, the 7×3 may be a better choice.

The Original Simple Soaker™ was designed to provide a low-cost entry point for those who want a conventionally heated hot tub, but didn’t want or need all the bells and whistles and jets. The equipment package for the Original Simple Soaker™ was designed to be both robust, simple, and weatherproof.

The Original Simple Soaker™ relies on an Intermatic 24/7 timer clock for heating and filtration cycle. As is typical with this type of clock, you set the timer pins for when you want the timer to cycle on and off. There is no independent thermostatic control.

The heater, either gas or electric, will only function when the timer activates the pump. Accordingly, while the tub may not lose much in the way of temperature over a 3-4 hour period, you will want to make sure that you have the timer cycles set so the tub will have had an opportunity to warm up to the set temperature at the typical times you will be using the tub.

You have a choice of heating options, 11kW electric or 125,000 BTU gas (LP or NG) heat. While heat up times are only of concern when heating a fresh new tub of water, the
heat up times for this size tub with the 11kW electric heater are about 7°/hr. and with the 125,000 BTU gas heater about 21°/hr.

All Original Simple Soaker™ equipment skids come with all the components assembled on a skid, pre-plumbed and pre-wired ready for your electrician to connect. Also included are 2 code compliant suction fittings, 2 return fittings and all flex hose and plumbing parts needed to locate the skid up to 10′ away from the hot tub.

If you will be pulling a permit for your installation, you should check local codes and/or discuss with your electrician before deciding what type of equipment system to purchase. If a listed equipment skid is required you may have to look at the Power Pak™ version of the Simple Soaker, which is UL listed as a single piece of equipment.

All our wood hot tubs are made in the USA of hand selected Western Red Cedar that exceeds the industry’s toughest standards. We start with A and Better, clear, all heart Western Red Cedar. Even that standard allows for imperfections that we cull out when selecting our staves and bottom boards. The staves, like the bottom boards, are precision-milled to +0.005” to ensure a perfect fit. Vertical Grain Upgrade;

The quality and performance of our hot tubs never varies, BUT wood is a natural product and there can be some aesthetic variations even within the premium grade we use. Our typical tub is about two-thirds, or more, vertical grain boards. But, if you choose our Premium Vertical Grain Upgrade, we will hand-inspect and hand-select every single piece of wood that goes into your hot tub to meet that standard and get as close to a perfect grain as Mother Nature allows.

Premium Stainless Steel Bands

We offer stainless steel bands and connectors on all of our hot tubs. Stainless bands, in addition to being more attractive than traditional black iron hoops offer many advantages. When assembling the tub and tightening the bands, the bands draw much more evenly against the staves all around the tub than do rigid iron or even stainless hoops, making assembly easier.

Stainless offers a zero-maintenance advantage, too. Real wood “moves” and every 6 or 7 years your tub will need a “tune up” (reseating the staves and tightening the bands). Stainless won’t rust or corrode so the nuts and threads remain clean, rust-free, and easily adjustable.

The bands are made from 316 stainless steel. The 316 alloy provides the maximum corrosion protection against, water, chemicals and salt.
